Connect With The Well

Whether you are a caregiver, educator, family member, practitioner,
funder, or community partner, this is a place to begin.
The Well offers trauma-informed, non-clinical community care through connection, creative healing, resource navigation, wellness partnerships, and mutual aid for rural and underserved communities in Coos County.

We all come to the well for water.

The Well is a rural community care sanctuary serving caregivers, educators, families, and community builders in Coos County, Oregon.
Some people reach out because they need rest.
Some because they are trying to find the right resource.
Some because they are looking for belonging.
Some because they want to partner, fund, volunteer, teach, or help carry the work forward.
Whatever brought you here, your message will be received with care.
The Well is not a clinic or crisis service. It is a trusted bridge between grassroots care and formal systems — a place where connection, creativity, practical support, and community stewardship meet.
Our Structure & Stewardship
The Well is not currently a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit.
It is a mission-driven, not-for-profit-in-purpose independent business and community care collective stewarded by Heather Koell in collaboration with artisans, practitioners, caregivers, educators, and community members.
The Well exists in the space between traditional business, grassroots mutual aid, creative practice, and community-based support.
It is a body of work rooted in stewardship and sustainability, not profit.
The Well operates as an independent, mission-driven community care initiative rather than a traditional nonprofit. Funding supports direct community benefit by helping cover supplies, facilitator compensation, studio operating costs, sliding-scale access, mutual aid, outreach, and trauma-informed programming for caregivers, educators, families, and underserved rural community members in Coos County.
For funders or partners that require 501(c)(3) status, The Well is open to aligned fiscal sponsorships, nonprofit partnerships, contracts, sponsored programming, and collaborative funding structures that preserve the integrity of the work while increasing access for caregivers, educators, families, and underserved rural communities.
Direct contributions to The Well may not be tax-deductible
unless made through a qualified fiscal sponsor or eligible nonprofit partner.
